Collaborative deck building for Magic: The Gathering.
Deckitron is a tool for creating a deck for Magic: The Gathering with friends.
Start a new deck with a unique URL and invite your friends by sharing your deck's URL. They can then help you create great decks for your next MTG game.

Looks like an impressive amount of work went into this!
I don't play MTG, so I can't comment on the usefulness. I did some googling to see if any other deck-building websites exist, and there are many, so I'm not sure how innovative this is. Those things aside, this is definitely a much better looking deck builder than the other sites I looked into. I'm not sure I understand the deck or sidebar aspects. I think you did a good job of making the complicated searching bearable, and I do have a soft-spot for material design. And hello from a more southern part of Ontario! Good job guys!
Very nice, cool concept of being able to build decks with others.
A remarkably polished and complete experience for a 48-hour hackathon. This team definitely picked a project where they could leverage a lot of value from third party code, from angular-material to a ready-made database of cards.
I like the collaboration aspect (the chat), but felt that the UI could be a little more clear (chat-like) -- it took me adding a few cards to figure out what was going on. Nice that you put a profanity filter in place :)
Mobile UX needs some work.
As a judge I do appreciate the landing page, explaining what this project is all about
Awesome job! Really remarkable for 48h!
Such a feature-packed app within a 48-hour period. I used to play Magic so I'd say this is amazingly useful for deck-building. Great twist with the collaborative aspect - and no swear words XD I like the running count for each mana type, the card details (rulings++), the chat, browse feature, and sideboard feature (in case you want to save cards for later, not to your deck). I would have liked pictures of the cards themselves, as well as a better UX for the search, but hey, it's a hackathon! What you guys did in a weekend is insane, so keep it up!
Nice job. This kind of reminds me of Cockatrice! It would be nice if there were more keyboard shortcuts to help navigate around quicker.
Please, please, do me a favour and bringt it up somewhere else after NodeKnockout!!!
I'm totally a fan of MTG and infected my brother as well (as we did with our friends).
Some side nodes on the app:
- Add some feedback while loading (an animation? At least a spinner)
- Disable the rules tab in card detail if there are no entries.
- Respect the rules, that is, display at least a warning if I am about to add more than four instances of the same card
- Display a distribution of the converted mana cost (helpful in judging the speed of a deck)
- Instead of a clear button, add a cross at the right side of every input
- Introduce some visual distinct between the search part and the deck views in the left sidebar.
Hey! Thanks for your Feedback on our Project.
I like your idea. I was a huge fan of the old magic card versions.
I'm not playing anymore, but for some people its very useful, if they do not want to leave the cellar. Just kidding :) Good work, guys!
Hope you understand the one point for design. (material-angular)
Good use of material design, layout is simple and easy to use. I've had limited exposure to magic the gathering but I've sent this along to friends of mine to use and I'm sure they'd go mental for it :D
I'm not too familiar with Magic, but this looks really cool.
There is a heap of functionality here that is amazing for just a weekend of work.
